The state funeral for Queen Elizabeth II is scheduled for Sept. 19, the Royal Family introduced Saturday.
She died on Thursday in her Balmoral property in Scotland at age 96. She served as queen since 1952. Her passing ended the longest-reining monarchy in British historical past.
The funeral service will happen at Westminster Abbey, a royal church within the heart of London. President Biden and different world leaders are anticipated to attend. The U.Ok. has declared Sept. 19 a vacation in honor of the queen.
Prior to the service, Elizabeth will lie in state inside Westminster Hall for 4 days to permit the general public to pay their respects.

In a press release on Twitter, Elizabeth’s grandson, Prince William, wrote that it’s going to take a while earlier than the fact of life with out his grandmother will sink in.
“While I will grieve her loss, I also feel incredibly grateful. I have had the benefit of The Queen’s wisdom and reassurance into my fifth decade,” he wrote.
William added that he seems ahead to supporting his father’s new title as King Charles III, which was officially announced earlier Saturday.
